8 miles to town Capella Ixtapa is a secluded, romantic and exclusive resort set alongside a stunning rock cliff with endless views of the blue ocean. The hotel features just 59 rooms and suites in five individual buildings that cascade towards the Pacific Ocean. Hillside inclinators transport guests to their rooms, pools and outdoor dining areas. All accomodations feature a large, private outdoor terrace and an individual plunge pool thoughtfully positioned out of sight from other suites. Capella Ixtapa's fine dining room, A Mares, features some of the best modern Mexican cuisine. The casual Las Rocas serves international and Mexican foods at its dramatic, alfresco cliffside grill. The grill serves the bounty from the surrounding waters. Tapas and Botanas are served at the resort's Terrace Bar that offers live music and a variety of small plates that include ceviche, sushi and sashimi. Guests may also choose to dine in the privacy of their own private terrace. The Spa provides the ultimate in pampering and rejuvenation. Each guest is escorted to one of six indoor treatment rooms or the outdoor massage area. In addition to a wide selection of beauty treatments, massages and therapies, a yoga and Pilates deck and fitness area is located at the top of the resort, providing spectacular Pacific Ocean Views. All decor and art work is hand made in Mexico, starting from the cast iron wall art to the handmade talavera ceramic plates. Open only for dinner, the restaurant is the place to enjoy Mexican cuisine at its best. Inspired by the clean and tasty cuisine of the various regions of Mexico, this gourmet restaurant turns fine dining in Ixtapa into a culinary Art. Old World Mexico dishes are redefined and refreshed with new flavors. The menu changes on a regular basis to include the freshest ingredients of the season. The A Mares wine menu presents a great variety of wines from all over the World to be paired with the Chef's creations. Las Rocas Restaurant - During daytime, this casual al fresco restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and drinks with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and the infinity edge freshwater pool. The best Mexican specialties and Pacific Rim favorites are served here, in addition to fresh tropical fruit juices from the region and the best Mango Margarita you will ever have. Around the pool and cabanas, Las Rocas snacks - a bucket with shrimps and dips on Ice or the best guacamole with totopos - are served throughout the day. The Las Rocas Seafood Market, a dramatic, al fresco cliffside grill suspended over the shoreline is a favourite dinner spot for Capella Ixtapa guests. This rustic seafood terrace creates a true sense of place and cultural ambience with local artisan pottery, candles and a fire pit. Capella Ixtapa offers the following bars: Tequila Room - The terrace bar is tiered in 3 levels and located on the 3rd floor of the resort. The first level of the bar is climate controlled; both lower tiers are open air with the most stunning views, encouraging guests to sit beneath the Ixtapa night sky full of the brightest stars. Accompanied by daily live music, our guests enjoy a variety of traditional drinks, including their first "Capella Basil Margarita" - a very refreshing new type of Margarita. We serve Botanas and Tapas - a variety of small plates of aqua chiles, Mexican crab cakes or sushi - to ensure that you do not have to leave the great ambience of the Terrace Bar. Over 65 certified, 100% agave Tequilas are served.
